Notable Week 10 Matchups From The 2017 Season
Though several playoff teams got important wins, there were only two really notable Week 10 matchups from the 2017 season. The first of these saw the 6-2 Saints completely dominate the 5-3 Bills by a score of 47-10. Both teams would go on to make the playoffs, but the Bills – in their first postseason appearance in 17 years – were unceremoniously (if fittingly) eliminated in the first round. Meanwhile, the Saints are still alive after beating Carolina, and they look to make a strong push in what could be hall-of-fame QB Drew Brees’ last Super Bowl run.
The other meaningful game of Week 10 came when the Cowboys visited the Falcons, losing 27-7 to the Dirty Birds in ATL. In addition to vaulting the Falcons to 5-4 (and bringing more focus to their eventual wildcard berth), this was one of the first games Dallas played without star running back Ezekiel Elliott. As such, the Cowboys – who were a clear playoff powerhouse with the young back behind QB Dak Prescott – basically started their quick drop back to mediocrity. They would go on to miss the 2017 NFL Playoffs altogether.
